The film was widely popular in Japan and became one of the most beloved animated films among children.

Makoto Shinkai

He was born in 1973 in Nagano, Japan, and began his career in animation in the late 1990s.

One of Makoto Shinkai’s popular works is the animated film Your Name (Kimi no Na wa), released in 2016. The film tells the story of two teenagers who swap bodies in their dreams and try to find each other in real life. “Your Name” became one of the highest-grossing films in Japanese cinema history and won numerous awards, including the award for best animated film at the Asia Pacific Screen Festival.

Another famous Shinkai work is 5 Centimeters in a Second (2007) which tells the story of two friends who live in different cities and try to keep in touch despite the distance. This film also won many awards, including the prize for best animated film at the Asian Academy Awards in 2008.
